Old Fashioned Potato Cakes made with Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients
3-4largePotatoes
1/4cupMilk
1/2tbspDried Minced Onion
1-2Eggs
3-4tbspFlour
1/2tspGarlic Powder
1 cupOil for frying
Instructions
Peel Potatos and boil until tender. Drain water then add milk, minced onion, salt and pepper to taste. Mash potatoes and chill. You can also use leftover mashed potatoes (around 4 cups).
Mix potatoes, egg, flour, garlic powder or your favorite seasonings in a bowl until batter forms.
Your batter should be on the thick side. If too thin add flour.
Heat 1/4-inch oil in large skillet.
Once oil is up to temperature, drop 4-5 inch circles of batter into oil.
