Sugar Cookies

Easy Sugar Cookie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 stick Butter (room temperature)
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 11/4 Cup Flour
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 2 tbsp Sugar (optional* for coating)

Instructions

  • Cream butter and sugar with hand mixer approximately 2 minutes
  • Add in egg and vanilla and mix another 30-60 seconds
  • Mix flour and baking soda in a separate bowl
  • With your hand mixer on low speed speed, slowly add in flour and baking soda mixture
  • Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated and your dough starts to form a ball
  • Roll the dough into 1 1/2 inch balls
  • Roll the dough balls in sugar (Optional)**
  • Pop them into the freezer for at least 30 minutes to harden
  • Cook dough on a cookie sheet 2 inches apart for 10 minutes at 350 degrees
  • Pull cookies out of the oven to cook an additional 5-10 minutes while still on hot cookie sheet
