Chocolate Hand Pies
These Oven Baked Chocolate Hand Pies are an easy, semi-homemade pie made with canned biscuits. They are a perfectly sweet, better tasting, version of a fried pie. And did I mention they are super easy? π
What are Chocolate Hand Pies?
I actually come up with these by accident. I had made my grandparents a batch of Chocolate Rolls, their favorite dessert, and I had some filling leftover. My husband requested bacon and biscuits the next morning for breakfast. I thought to myself, why not add some of the filling to one of the biscuits and see what happens? Well, Iβll tell you what happened..MAGIC. These things are so good I ended up making a batch everyday for the last 3 days!
I am a canned biscuit girl. I am not a fan of homemade biscuits at all. And we keep stocked up on biscuits, so I have tried making these with several different kinds of canned biscuits. But my favorite biscuit with this recipe has been the Pillsbury flaky layers. I mean that is my favorite biscuit anyway, but especially with the chocolate filling. This recipe almost reminds me of inside out chocolate gravy and biscuits. Yum.
