Easy Chocolate Croissant

Old Fashioned Chocolate Filling

This recipe came together after much debate in my family. The old-fashioned chocolate rolls my family are used to have a gritty texture I am not a fan of. I decided to make an easy chocolate roll filling with the same old-fashioned taste, minus the gritty texture and hard work.

Chocolate Croissant Filling

First, the key to getting a creamy middle is really taking your time to cook the ingredients low and slow. Make sure everything is melted together and smooth. Of course, we cannot forget that secret ingredient I mentioned.

The secret ingredient is…cream cheese. It really smooths out the texture and cuts the sweetness perfectly. I just know you will love this recipe. Plus, everyone will be so impressed, they will think it took you hours sweating over a hot stove, but that will be our little secret.

What can you make Chocolate Pastries out of?

I’m telling you, I add this filling to whatever I can get my hands on. Pie dough, biscuits, croissants, this filling works with them all. If you are curious, I also have recipes using this filling for Old Fashioned Chocolate Rolls made with pie crust, and Chocolate Hand Pies using biscuits. All are equally delicious.

How to make easy Chocolate Croissants?

Now that I have swooned over the filling, we must decide on a croissant. I love a good time saving hack, and I usually don’t have all day to whip up homemade pastries. Let me tell you, the canned crescent rolls are the perfect semi-homemade hack for these Chocolate Croissants. So simple, yet still flaky and delicious.
