Easy Ways to Make Your Home Cozy

These Easy Ways to Make Your Home Cozy for the Winter are the perfect budget friendly ideas to add some warmth and holiday spirit to your house. By making these little changes you can easily make your home feel like a brand-new space.

I love the holidays, but I am not a huge Christmas decorator. I would rather add a few cozy touches to make my house feel like winter is here, without all the tinsel and garland.

Warm and Fuzzy

One of my favorite ways to cozy up my home is to add fluffy blankets and pillows. You can never have too many blankets, right?

Buying covers for your pillows is a great inexpensive way to change up your decor in the winter. My favorite place to find cozy pillows and pillow covers is Ikea.

Layering blankets and throw pillows on your furniture just adds to the cozy. I love going to someone’s house and seeing a big fluffy blanket on their couch. It just makes your house so much more inviting.

Fuzzy blankets are always a must in my house. Especially for the cats. They love a good blanket fort.

Cozy Decor

Another easy way to add some cozy into your house is through your decor. In my opinion, nothing screams cozy like a stack of books.

Books are such an easy thing to use as decor in your home. I love findings cheap books at thrift stores and Goodwill. You can use the different colors to match your home decor, or to color coordinate for the different seasons.

I also love to use fake plants and dried flowers to make my house winter ready. Pine cones and cotton are staples in my house all year round, but they really bring in that cozy vibe in the winter.

So when the chilly weather hits I change out my bright flowers and greenery for more neutral cozy decor.

Lighting is Everything

A great way to set a cozy mood for winter is all about the lighting. A warmer tone light just makes you want to cuddle up. So set the mood by switching out those bright white lights for a cozier feel.

Do this by using a warmer tone light bulbs in your lamps, and turning off the overhead lights. Another inexpensive way to make cozy lighting is to add some candles.

You can also leave off all the extra balls and tinsel, and get some plain lights for your Christmas tree. I love the look of a simple tree.

I hope these Easy Ways to Make Your Home Cozy for the Winter gives you some ideas. So pull out your slippers and get your house feeling warm and toasty.
